Becoming aware of the beauty of sound is a part of aesthetic awareness.
Make wind chimes this week with your child. Explore different objects around the house and see how they sound when they bump together. Spoons, forks, pie tins, keys, nuts and bolts, make your own shapes with cookie cutters and clay (and let them dry). What it will sound like when you tap them together, will it make a high or low sound, will it sound like metal or wood? Once you have your collection suspend them from a coat hanger, an embroidery hoop or other ring. Hang up your wind chimes where you can enjoy it.
